Alphay International MLM Review – Money in Mushrooms?

Finding ways to make extra cash isn’t always easy. Flexible jobs are attractive because you can set your own schedule. For anyone looking for a business opportunity that’s flexible might profit from selling products.  Alphay International sells vitamins that are created using mushrooms and Chinese herbs. In this Alphay International MLM review, I’ll look closer at this opportunity to see if you can create a business here and make decent money.

What is Alphay International MLM?

Alphay International originally started in 1959 producing edible mushrooms. The company was founded by Hui Chen in 2002 under the name Jiangsu Anhui Biological Technology Co., Ltd. They have locations in the United States and Canada with over 100,000 distributors around the world. The products are based on Chinese medicine and include vitamins and other supplements. Other products include a few lifestyle products.

The company had been doing well over the years. But since 2017, the company revenue has continued to drop. In 2016, they had $200 million in revenue. In 2017, it went up to $252 million. In 2018, it dropped to $225 million and in 2019, it dropped further to $220 million.

Are Alphay International Products Worth Their Price?

The products are based on traditional Chinese medicine and are made from organic mushrooms and herbs. The philosophy is that each herb has its own role to play in the healing process. The products are meant to help maintain health, revitalize, cleanse, soothe and balance your health. You can buy products individually or in a combination pack.

  • Lingzhi Mushroom – enhances the immune system, reduces stress, improves sleep
  • Organic Lion’s Mane – for cognitive function, clarity, mood and creativity
  • Cordyceps Mushroom – helps with physical fatigue, protects Mitochondria, improves brain function
  • Schisandra – anti-aging, normalizes blood pressure and blood sugar, protects the liver

The product descriptions include a disclaimer statement that the products are not intended to treat, prevent or cure any diseases. These products are expensive and they are not approved by the FDA.

I couldn’t find any comparable products that include all the ingredients listed in the Balance supplements. But you can buy the powders individually at a much cheaper price.

The Alphay International MLM Opportunity

When you sign up as an Alphay International distributor, you’ll be expected to create a list of people you can tap into. You’ll then contact those people to offer them an opportunity to join you and/or buy products. Your job will be to both sell products and recruit new members to be part of your team. Your income will be a combination of commissions through product sales and recruitment.

How Much Does It Cost to Join Alphay International?

The basic membership costs $35. The $35 gets you a website, training and an online office. You can buy one of the two starter packs. You’ll earn 5% commissions using the Builder Pack and 15% commissions using the Executive Pack.

Alphay International MLM Review - Starter Packs

There’s a one-time commission activation fee of $1.95. There’s also a pre-deposit commission processing fee of $1.50. You’ll need a minimum of $10.00 accrued in commissions for a payout.  There’s also an automatic shipment option you can sign up for. You’ll receive an automatic shipment of products each month to sell.

Can You Make Money with Alphay International?

When you buy products to sell, you buy them at the distributor price and sell them at the retail price. The difference between the distributor price and the retail price is what you earn. If someone buys products through your website, you’ll earn 25% on the sales. Any customer who signs up as a Preferred Customer auto-delivery program can buy products from you at wholesale prices.

Another way to earn money is through recruitment. For every first order placed by a new recruit, you will earn a Direct First Order Bonus of 15% from those orders.

Alphay International MLM Review - Compensation

In order to make money with Alphay International, you need to have at least 50 PQV (Personal  Qualifying Volume) in a current month. There are also other bonuses and incentives that all involve buying more products.

Pros:

Low Minimum Commission Requirement

You only have to maintain a low minimum of 50 PV per month in order to keep an active status to receive commissions.

First Order Bonus

You’ll earn 15% from any first orders placed by new recruits.

Flexible Schedule

Selling MLM products like these allow you to work when you can. So it can fit into a busy schedule.

Cons:

Difficult to Sell

These products are very unusual and will probably be difficult to sell. They will only appeal to a select market. The fact that they are not FDA approved may make customers question their effectiveness and their quality. Not to mention any potential side effects.

No Reimbursements

You are not reimbursed for any expenses related to your business. You won’t be paid for any phone calls, travel expenses such as gas or any other business expenses.

Commission Only

The commission rates are pretty comparable to other MLMs. Keep in mind that you don’t make any money until you sell products. Five percent of $86 is only $4.30. For example, you’d have to sell 25 bottles of Balance just to make $107.50 in commissions.

Is Alphay International a Scam?

The company is listed with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) but there’s no real information about the company there. No complaints and no reviews. This opportunity isn’t a scam but that doesn’t mean you can make decent money here. My issue with MLMs is that you will end up doing a lot of work for little payback. Customers and recruits will come and go and you won’t earn a reliable income.

Final Thoughts

For a company that’s been around for so long, there’s very little information about their products other than what’s listed on the website. This is one opportunity I’d advise you to take a pass on. There’s no information on how effective the products are. No track record to speak of here. If having your own business with a flexible schedule is important to you, check out my #1 recommendation. You’ll learn everything about building your own business including training, tools a website and hosting.
