If you are interested in becoming an Amazon Seller, Jungle Scout could be a product that can help you. In this Jungle Scout review, I’ll dive into the difference between the products they have on offer and if these products can help to give you the edge on your competition. Is this product a sound investment? Let’s find out.

Jungle Scout Review - LogoWhat is Jungle Scout?

The Jungle Scout company has a range of software products such as Fetcher, Splitly, Forecastly, Jungle Scout Market as well as the Jungle Scout software and extension. All of their products are designed to help Amazon Sellers. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas and was founded in 2015 by Greg Mercer. They have over 120 employees across the USA, Canada and China. I’m going to take a look specifically at two Jungle Scout products. One is a software product and the other is a Chrome extension. Both products serve the same purpose. They are both research tools. The difference is in the features of each product. You can also purchase and use both products as a bundle.

How Does Jungle Scout Work?

These products are research tools that are aimed at helping you find a profitable niche and products in order to be an Amazon Seller. Both products, the software and the Chrome extension help Amazon sellers find products and suppliers on Amazon, listing a product, business analytics, keeping track of inventory and more. This product takes a lot of the manual work out of finding products to sell on Amazon by using Amazon’s own database to give you the information you need to be a successful Amazon Seller.

Who Is Jungle Scout For?

The software and extension are best suited for anyone who wants to be an Amazon Seller. Amazon Sellers are different from Amazon Associates. Amazon Sellers connect with companies that supply products to Amazon and act as an intermediary or affiliate to those suppliers for selling specifically on Amazon. Amazon Associates are usually bloggers who promote Amazon products on their website. They can also be affiliates of other programs as well. So what’s the difference? Amazon Sellers are more connected to actual customers because they will keep track of products and purchases. They do not have to actually maintain a physical inventory of products. That is all left up to the suppliers that supply Amazon. Amazon Associates promote Amazon products on their websites by providing direct links to products that their visitors can click on. The Amazon Associate will earn a commission for any products purchased within a 24-hour period.

Jungle Scout Features

Below, I’m going to outline the two main Jungle Scout products and outline the differences between the two. The products can be bought individually but you can also combine them both in a bundle for even more features.

Jungle Scout Software

The Jungle Scout software contains loads of tools that can help find products to sell quickly and easily. Some of the main features of the software are: Product database: The product database lists over 70 million products that are pulled directly from the Amazon catalog. The database allows you to pre-set filters such as categories, sales rank, revenue, and estimated sales. Jungle Scout Review - Product Database Tracker: This feature tracks your potential ideas over time, monitors the best seller rank, sales, price and daily inventory using accurate up-to-date information. Jungle Scout Review - Tracker Supplier Database: The supplier database helps you find global suppliers that are legitimate; verify known suppliers by checking out their shipments and customer volume; compare quotes, organize samples, and manage orders. Jungle Scout Review - Supplier Database Keyword Scout: This keyword tool will show you exactly what Amazon customers are searching for. You can do keyword searches by broad keyword search terms, ASINs for specific products, find other competing products, and see pay-per-click costs. Jungle Scout Review - Keyword Scout Launch: The Launch tool is designed to send automated customer emails about the Amazon products you are selling. You can also follow up with customers to make sure they don’t have any issues with their products and have received their products in a timely manner. This is an excellent opportunity for you to ask them to leave feedback on the product. Jungle Scout Review - Launch Opportunity Finder: The Opportunity Finder helps you find trends and products in profitable niches; focus on actual trending Amazon keywords that are in high demand and low competition niches; analyze trends over time with historical data, graphs and charts; view product performance over time and more. Jungle Scout Review - Opportunity Finder Jungle Scout Chrome Extension: The extension is a product research tool that works with Amazon’s database to give you information on products you may be interested in selling. You can find sales data, product data, Google trend analysis, historical Best Sellers Rank and more. It’s a slimmed down version of the software. One of the great features of the extension is the Opportunity Score of a product. The closer to 10 in the score, the better the opportunity. You can also see in the image below that the Opportunity Score has a green circle around it essentially giving you the “green light” for the product. Jungle Scout Review - Chrome Extension

Can Jungle Scout Help You Make Money As An Amazon Seller?

These Jungle Scout products can definitely save you time in finding Amazon products to sell. Saving time means you can focus more on your Seller business as opposed to doing all the research manually. Even the Chrome Extension has enough features to save you research time. Is Jungle Scout A Scam?

There are a lot of happy customers out there that are singing the praises of this product. My research tells me that Jungle Scout is not a scam. One of the most comforting things about this product is that it is connected directly to the Amazon databases. That means you are not getting second hand information about Amazon products.

Final Thoughts About Jungle Scout

While I’ve noted that there’s no guarantee with this product, that’s not necessarily an uncommon claim. All products of this nature usually state that they cannot guarantee results. This is because they have no control over how people will use the product. But it looks like Jungle Scout has made it almost impossible to fail. There are so many helpful tools around products, sales, inventory, shipping, training videos, etc., that it seems that it would be difficult to fail. 1. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Jungle Scout is a mess after they merged JumpSend, JungleScout and others.
I can’t use the Launch to promote my new product ever since they merged, there is some technological issue on their end that makes the information can’t be synchronized from Amazon. Without a correct profile image, it’s useless to do a giveaway on Launch (formerly, jump send). I’ve been asking them to fix it and they admitted there’s a bug but they still haven’t been able to fix such a small bug for over a month. Their e-mail templates has also been broken with regards to simple “variable” replacements. Something so simple, yet it’s been months and they can’t fix it. All I’ve gotten from them is daily automated e-mails saying “Thank you for raising the issue, your issue is being investigated as VIP and we’ll get back to you…”
You might want to wait till they get more stable support if you plan to subscribe to it.

  2. Hi Jay, really nice and informative review ones again. I have already watched some videos on skillshare about becoming an Amazon FBA and a friend of mine actually is a successful FBA. This tool here is like the extra insight to spy on demand and your competition. Which is also something that only a few Amazon FBAs do, so it gives you a really good advantage.

  3. Hey there,

I have been digging more about this product and I really liked the services too. But the chrome thing was what made me not have to use it.

Your recommendation sounds awesome and it’s way cheaper and better than jungle scout considering the things you will getting on top of proper niche research.

I think I’ll go with your recommendation. Thanks a lot for the good advice.

  4. Nice one Jay!
Never heard of jungle Scout before, but with your review i think it would be a great platform for lots people who are new in online marketing and who would love to use Amazon FBA.I love the chrome extension, its pricey even with all the features

Thanks once more for the information

  5. Thanks for your Jungle Scout review Jay. I think if you are new to navigating Amazon, a tool like this can be a god-send. Its interesting that you advise using it for a time and not just joining forever. Through use of the tool can you learn how to do the same thing on your own? Is that why you recommend limited time membership?

  6. Hi, Jay. A friend told me about Jungle Scout and here I am checking them out. Thanks for all the great information on Jungle Scout, I now know a lot more about them and what to expect.
The reason for visiting your Post is because I’m in the first stages of setting up an e-commerce store to sell my own products. I was thinking of starting my online store on Shopify as their prices seem quite fair.
Can you recommend any other good Online Platforms that can teach me how to open an e-commerce store that charges less than Shopify?
Really liked your suggestion to check out Jungle Scout for a couple of months to get all the inside scoops. That makes a lot of sense to me and I thank you for your honesty.
    Much appreciated, Jeff.

  7. Hi Jay, this is the first time I read an article written by you. I’ve been seeing you inside Wealthy Affiliate, and when I got here, my reaction was, “Oh, it’s Jay! Let’s see what is he promoting.”

After reading your article, I got interested with this Chrome extension, as I also do business with Amazon. But before that, I want to know if this tool website has its own affiliate program? I ask this because, I love making money with the tools I use. Instead of just being “tools”, in my previous online businesses, I love this idea of monetizing the tools.

  8. Hi Jay

After reading your post I can definitely see why Jungle Scout would having for anybody wanting to tap into the Amazon gold mine.

I agree with you though, it is pricey, especially for newbies, the ones who could probably most benefit.

I like your idea of subscribing for a couple of months to get the niche research done, Bu then you had better know what to do with that niche once identified otherwise you’d just be wasting your money.

Thanks for the info Jay. I had never heard of Jungle Scout and now I’m kind of curious….

    ~Mark

  9. Great review Jay about Jungle Scout. I’ve never heard of this program before — but it sounds like it may be a worthwhile investment if you go the money to spare.

Have you personally bought this product yourself, and if so did it help you find profitable niches a whole lot easier?

Thanks again for giving a well in depth review about Jungle Scout.

  10. I’ve been reading a lot about people becoming successful online via Amazin FBA, but was curious about how they choose products to sell. This review explains some of the capabilities available to people aspiring to succeed on Amazon. Would you recommend Jungle Scout for bloggers who are looking for products to review in their niche? Would it be useful for that, or would there be better options for finding that information?

  11. Thank you, Jay, for this thorough and informative review which has opened my eyes to this tool ‘Jungle Scout.’

It’s my first time to hear about Jungle Scout. Its indeed a great tool to use which gives me insights into identifying gaps in the market, pointing me to products I can promote.

Also, a useful tool for creating an e-commerce store using Shopify. I don’t find it costly, considering the priceless information the tool provides.

I have bookmarked your post. I will refer to it as soon as my application to join Shopify goes through.

    Once again, many thanks.
