Many people who are looking for ways to make extra money can’t commit to a set schedule. Selling products in your spare time can help to fill the gap. Certain products sell better than others. Products made with organic ingredients, such as Kyani, provide a level of trust. In this Kyani MLM review, we’ll take a peek into the ingredients to see if you can make money selling these products. Just because they may be organic, doesn’t mean they will sell well.
What is Kyäni MLM?
Kyani is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company based in Idaho. It was founded in 2005 by Kirk Hanse, Dick Powell, and Carl Taylor. The company claims to be “a pioneer of the antioxidant movement.” The product line includes, but is not limited to, health and wellness products such as nutritional supplements, protein shakes, and digestive health.
The Kyani product line is available in 54 countries and they reported $250 million in revenue for 2020. Not too shabby. So let’s look at the products.
Are Kyäni Products Worth Their Price?
It all started with wild Alaskan blueberries that are full of antioxidants. There’s one particular set of supplements that intrigued me. It’s called the Triangle of Health Pack. The most basic pack I could find is called the Nitro Xtreme Triangle of Health Pack and comes in one flavor–pomegranate.

The pack contains one box of Sunrise (30 1ounce pouches), one bottle of Sunset (90 soft gels), and one bottle of Nitro Xtreme Pomegranate (2 oz/56 ml). These products are to be taken together each day as part of a complex nutritional triangle designed to provide optimal health.
The products contain wild Alaskan blueberries, tocotrienols (the most potent form of Vitamin E), Omega-3 from wild Alaskan salmon, and nitric oxide-producing nitrites.
The benefits are as follows:
Sunrise: promotes energy and supports brain function, supports cognitive function, helps with digestion, enables healthy stress management, and more.
Sunset: benefits cardiovascular health, helps to maintain healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, potent source of Vitamin E, supports the immune system, and more.
Xtreme: supports the production of nitric oxide in the body, promotes energy, circulation, cognitive function, brain function, and more.
To take these, you start with Kyani Nitro in the morning along with Kyani Sunrise. Four to five hours later, you take Nitro again. Then before bed, take Kyani Nitro again along with Kyani Sunset.
The wild Alaskan blueberries are certified USDA Organic. The fish oil used in the production of products is MSC Certified and processed under the FDA’s HACCP Program.
Not all products are certified organic.
Product Reviews
Nitric oxide helps to promote healthy circulation and better absorption of nutrients making these products very popular. The product reviews have been mixed. Some customers love the products and others have seen nor felt any measurable changes in their health.
One thing to note is the amount of sugar in some of these products. For instance, the Kyani Sunrise contains 7 grams of sugar per serving. For women to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is recommended that they only consume 25 grams of sugar per day. The sugar content should be considered along with other food consumed during the day to prevent going over the recommended daily allowance.
The Kyäni Opportunity
You can sign up via the website or through a sponsor. Either way, you need a sponsor who will provide training. You will also need to purchase a starter kit and pay the annual fee.
Once you have received your training, you can start selling products. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of information as to how you sell these products. At the very least, you can sell them directly through 1-1 interactions with customers. You may also be able to sell them virtually online.
How Much Does It Cost To Join Kyäni?
There are a few upfront fees you need to pay before becoming a Kyani Business Partner. The Welcome Kit is $89 and is a necessity because it contains all the business training materials you need to get started.
Then there’s the Starter Pack as indicated below. The least expensive is $399. There’s also an annual fee of $20. This fee pays for the continued privilege of selling Kyani products.

Can You Make Money With Kyäni?
If you have a wide network of people in need of these types of products, perhaps you can earn money with these products. But since it’s commission-based, you have to work very hard to make even a little money.
Income Disclosure Chart
Below is Kyani’s Income Disclosure Chart from 2020. Pay particular attention to the line in red. The base commission rate is 20% on product sales. There are also downline commission rates you can earn from recruits to your team who also sell products.

As you can see, the Jade rank is the first rank on the list. But, there’s actually a lower rank that is not listed called Garnet. The Garnet rank is given when you first join and buy a builder pack to grow your business.
In order to reach Jade status, you have to recruit two people who also need to recruit one person each within 30 days. Once this is achieved, your Jade status will give you an average of $250 per month.
So it’s an uphill climb to make money here. And keep in mind that people like to buy products that are deemed safe. Some of the product ingredients may be certified organic and approved by the FDA but that doesn’t mean the products themselves meet the certified organic threshold.
Pros
No Purchase Requirements: While the documentation clearly states that there are no purchase requirements, it is assumed that you will buy products for yourself.
Refunds Upon Cancellation: If you decide to quit, Kyani will buy back any products you purchased as long as they are unopened.
High Payback: Fifty-two percent of all sales are paid back to the Kyani Business Partners.
Flexible Schedule: you can sell products in your spare time or make it a full-time job.
Cons
Expensive Starter Packs: At a bare minimum, a starter pack will set you back $399.
Expensive Products: All the products listed on the site are expensive when compared to comparable products.
Recruit Partners and Sales: In order for you to qualify for commissions and bonuses, you must sponsor new recruits who also make qualifying purchases.
Business License: Depending on where you live, you may be required to purchase a business license in order to sell these products.
Complicated Compensation Plan: The compensation plan is all about placement trees, levels, legs, ranks, and volumes.
Qualifying Commission Requirements: In order to qualify for commissions you must maintain a 100QV (qualifying volume) per month through either your team or your own purchases.
Lawsuit: In 2017, Kyani was hit with a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company is a pyramid scheme. They were also accused of false labeling and illegal health claims, among other complaints.
Is Kyäni a Scam?
Since Kyani is a direct selling company, it’s not a scam. It’s also registered with the Direct Selling Association.
Final Thoughts
Success is hard to come by when selling products for an MLM. It takes a lot of work and you need a pretty wide network. Most people that join MLMs make little to no money at all. And let’s not forget that, in this case, you are out of pocket for at least $399 before you even start.
