About 75% of the United States population identifies as being of Christian faith. That number doesn’t come from an outdated source either. In fact, it was the result of a 2017 Gallup poll conducted on over 125,000 adults across all 50 states and Washington DC. With so many Christians in the US and globally, it’s easy to see why you may be considering creating a faith-based Christian website or at least want to learn more about where to find Christian affiliate programs so that you can offer Christian products and services to your audience.

Where To Find Christian Affiliate Programs

The key to finding high quality Christian affiliate programs is knowing where to look in the first place. Sometimes, the best place to start looking can be tucked away in the corners of many websites that you may already visit often.

Start with Larger Sites

It’s important to remember when you’re searching for a good affiliate program, that your visitors must trust the site that you’re linking to. Many people are still very uncomfortable spending money on websites that they’re not familiar with, and with good reason.

Because of this, before we get into some of the smaller Christian owned affiliate programs out there, you should first see some of the product offerings inside of some of the larger websites you’re already familiar with.

While the sites below don’t necessarily describe themselves as being Christian affiliate programs, many of the sellers behind the products are Christian owned businesses and families that are selling their products and services on the larger websites.

This pairing can be a win-win for you and your audience. It allows your audience to buy with confidence from a trusted brand that they’ve most likely shopped with in the past and allows you to still link to products that have been listed or created by Christian families or businesses. You earn a commission from purchases and the business owner who listed the product gets a sale.

Amazon

  • Site: Multiple stores using Amazon affiliate links
  • What They Sell: Varies in each shop
  • Commission Rate: Varies from 2% to 10% depending on product category

One of the last places you would probably think about when considering Christian affiliate programs, is Amazon. The thing that you may not know about Amazon, however, is that often, other people and businesses are the ones who truly provide Amazon with their products. From arts and crafts designed by Christian families to small family-owned and even larger Christian owned businesses, there are a lot of Christian products available for sale on Amazon.

You can find these Christian owned shops by searching on Google for Amazon Christian bookstores or by browsing faith-based products on Amazon and looking for third-party sellers like the one in the image below.

As you can see in their business summary, this shop on Amazon is a Christian book store that has made over 100 sales online in the last 30 days. This is how many Christian bookstores that would otherwise be forced to close their doors are able to remain open in the digital age. As you can see below, they offer an impressive product catalog that features 20,000 products inside of their shop.

If you want to support these smaller shops with affiliate links from Amazon, go into any third-party sellers store that you wish to support and click on the type of link you’d like to create on your Amazon Associates SiteStripe, just like you would on any other Amazon product listing.

This is a great way to support small Christian and businesses while also giving your audience the feeling of security that they already have shopping with Amazon.

One word of caution is to keep an eye out for product listings that show small available quantities. Otherwise, you’ll have to constantly check your links to make sure your visitors are still seeing a product after they leave your site.

Etsy

  • Site: Etsy’s affiliate program
  • What They Sell: Arts and Crafts, Handmade Items, Jewelry, Drinkware, Stickers, Paintings, Photographs and much more.
  • Commission Rate: 4% -8%

Another large site where many people feel comfortable shopping is Etsy. While there are a lot of websites online that allow individuals to sell items, Etsy takes things a step further and allows users to create entire stores inside of their platform and only charge a meager $0.20 per product listing to do so.

Etsy offers shop owners a very large audience base that they can potentially sell products to. Because of this, many Christian owned businesses have made their way to Etsy selling various faith-based arts and crafts, handmade items, paintings, stickers and much more.

Best of all, many of the artisans who own shops on Etsy are more than happy to customize items and make them special just for the person who is buying it or purchasing it as a gift.

As a website owner, you earn 4% to 8% commission when someone buys a product after clicking your Etsy affiliate link. Best of all, Etsy uses an impressive 30-day cookie that lets you earn commissions on any products that your audience may purchase for up to 30 days.

It’s a great way to provide your audience with one-of-a-kind items and you can choose who you wish to work with by reading their store descriptions and even contacting them personally, if you so choose. Below is an example of just one of the many Christian owned small businesses that can exist, at least in part, thanks to Etsy.

  2. Hi Jay!

Your whole site is wonderfully packed with an array of resourceful information! Wow!

I found this particular article to be a real Blessing to me, as it centers around my faith and business–perfect! Being a Christian children’s author of my Bibletoons book series and an affiliate business owner, I felt this post truly speak to me! You have laid out so much insight, fresh new ideas and ‘uncommon’ knowledge that I found fascinating. As both an Amazon and Etsy affiliate, your post has made me realize that I haven’t been taking full advantage of the third parties or Christian promoting. And, it will all weave quite nicely into my line of work!

It is so appropriate that I am writing at this particular moment in time, “For such a time as this..” (Esther 4:14) because it is now 12:01 am on Easter morning! Happy Blessed Easter, my friend! Thank you for opening my eyes up with your vision! I will surely take advantage of every suggestion.

  3. wow, your article is very interesting. I learnt something new. Never in my life I would have thought that people look for products and services based on their faith or it is being a niche.
It was a real eye opener for me with lots of new info.
I have signed up for your 10 days course and looking forward to start it.

    All the best

    Geni

  4. Hi Jay,

First off I was enlightened reading this article and finding resources that put my faith into the light as an option for my affiliate business. I am a firm believer in God and would only do a Christian Affiliate site with a commitment to give to charity and ministry from the proceeds. What I would love to know is how a Christian Affiliate Program and a faith-based site perform in the SEPS? How much competition is there in this niche and the demand for services would be a good starting point. Is Jaaxy a great tool to learn this from, I see it is a part of Wealthy Affiliate membership and I wonder if it is a good fit for a faith-based blog as well?

  5. Hello Jay,

I have never thought about making money in the Christian Niche before reading this post. But now I realised there are many affiliate programs for this niche. However, I think I could have expected that Amazon would be one of the options in this article, because people can find anything there. I hope this article helped many people who were thinking about creating their own business in this niche.

    Best,

    Mariana

  6. Hi Jay,

I always enjoy your training and out of the box thinking, and this post definitely gave me something to think about. I have forgotten about Etsy which would be a good fit with my Spiritual Blog as well. I have never thought about a monthly subscription box program in religion, inspires me to look for one in my genre as well.

My question I have, do you think it is beneficial to have a donation for charities in your genre to give back to the community as you are building your business? I have one on mine already, which I plan on keeping going however, I was wondering if you think it would help with building trust to your audience if you show you are giving back to communities or organizations?

    Be Blissfully Blessed

    Sara

    1. Hi Sara,

I think if you were to have a dedicated page to educate your readers about the charity, then it would be fine. A great noble cause though!

  7. Thank you for this article. I am a christian too and this article is so helpful for me. Amazon seems to be every where because of its large amount of products that platform provide to people of all categories so I totally agree with the part of starting with a larger site that people trust.
Trust is one thing new affiliate owners want to gain from the people they trying to sell to. I will apply to join Etsy. looks like they have the things I am interested in. Thanks.

  8. Thank you very much for this post! I run a Christmas blog right now, but before I decided to stick with that nice, I contemplated creating a website centered around the Christian faith. But I was unsure of where to start looking for affiliate programs that would be appropriate. I felt uneasy posting ads on the site, because I thought it would seem disrespectful in a way.

It’s really nice to know that Amazon is a good site to use! I use Amazon associates a lot and now that I think about it- they would have a lot of products that would be appraise. Don’t know why I never considered Etsy either. That’s brilliant! They are a trustworthy brand for sure, and I have purchased many great items for craters over the years.

I definitely have some brain storming to do! Thanks again for this post. It will help a lot of people.

    Sincerely yours,

    Darc’ie

    1. Hi Darc’ie,

Since Christmas is based off of Christianity, why not keep that site and expand it with a Christian category?
I think it would tie in really well together.
