For people who love to travel selling, travel memberships might seem too easy. WorldVentures MLM sells travel memberships through direct selling. They have been around since 2005 so you may have even come across them over the years. In this WorldVentures MLM review, I’ll discuss how it works and how you can make money with this program. See if you can spot the red flags.
What is WorldVentures MLM?
WorldVentures is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company that sells dream vacation trips. The company is headquartered in Texas and was started in 2005. They currently have approximately 120,000 global representatives spread across 40 countries, and over 500,000 members.
The company hasn’t been doing very well recently. In 2015 their estimate revenue was $693 million. As of 2017, their estimated revenue was $381 million. So all is not well here.
Are WorldVentures Products Worth Their Price?
WorldVentures’ products are travel packages. These are sold through different membership types. The higher the membership, the better the deal through the number of points earned. There are plenty of travel packages available and they are all for specific weeks.
DreamTrip prices are not available to the public so it will be hard to compare prices of trips. What I can tell you is that based on my research, many dissatisfied WorldVentures representatives found cheaper prices on their own without using their points.
Another problem with this program is that you can’t use your points until you hit your anniversary date. So if you manage to rack up enough points to take a trip, you’ll have to postpone it until after your anniversary. So much for enjoying that work from home lifestyle where your schedule is your own.

The WorldVentures MLM Opportunity
This is a members-only opportunity so you have to be sponsored through an existing member. You will become part of your sponsor’s down line in their left or right team. Your job is to sell memberships of which there are three–Dream Trips, Dream Trips-Gold and Dream Trips-Platinum.
As you sell memberships you will accumulate points that are used toward DreamTrips as well as earn commissions. The number of points you earn is dependent on the type of membership you sell.
How Much Does It Cost to Join WorldVentures?
When you sign up as a member the membership fee and monthly fee will depend on your membership type. The memberships are outlined below:
Dream Trips: Initial membership fee–$99.99; $24.99 a month. Member receives an initial 100 points for enrollment and 300 points to be used towards travel packages annually.
Dream Trips-Gold: Initial membership fee–$199.99; $49.99 per month. 200 points initially; 600 points toward travel packages annually.
Dream Trips-Platinum: Initial membership fee–$399.99; $99 per month. 300 points initially; 1,200 points towards travel packages annually.
Your membership also includes an online back office, training and tools and a website.
Can You Make Money with WorldVentures?
There are two ways you can earn money. You can simply sell memberships to people who want discounts on travel and you can also recruit people to be part of your team. You’ll be paid for each new member you sign up. To become a Qualified Representative, you need to sign up four people in a given month.
Once you have four people on your team, you’ll earn weekly team bonuses. The team bonuses are based on the amount of sales your team makes.
There are different tiers you can work your way up to: Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. The higher the tier the higher the requirements and the higher rewards.
There’s a 65% Payout Cap Rule which caps the commission payout. This might be good for the company, but it may not be good for you.
According to my research, there’s no public information available on commissions. In order to find out, you have to log into the back office of your account.
Bonuses are paid out each week with a one week delay. Residual commission income is paid monthly on the 15th of each month.
Monthly Membership Points
Each month you will accrue points that you use to go on trips. The points equal the amount of your monthly membership. So if your monthly membership is $25 per month, you will accrue 25 points each month to be used towards trips.
The More The Better
The more people you can sign up the better. Each time you sign someone up you receive bonus points that can be used towards better travel packages.
Your travel reward points can be used for discounts on flights, hotels, car rentals and restaurants and even family activities such as water parks.
Show Me The Money!
In 2018, there was a mass exodus from WorldVentures. Many distributors left messages on social media complaining that they hadn’t received a commission check in months.
The BBB (Better Business Bureau) has also received numerous complaints from distributors who have not received their commissions.
You Snooze You Lose
If you don’t use your points (Rovia Bucks) by the end of the year, they don’t rollover. You lose them altogether and have to start fresh the following year.
In 2017, WorldVentures were sued in a class-action lawsuit for misleading and misrepresenting the amount of money a representative could earn. This lawsuit also claims that WorldVentures is not only an MLM but is also a pyramid scheme. They were banned from operating in Norway for this reason.
Is WorldVentures a Scam?
There are a lot of red flags on this one. You should be very concerned about the BBB alert as well as the distributor complaints who did not receive their commission checks. That speaks volumes. If there was any chance you wouldn’t be paid for all your hard work, you shouldn’t even entertain the idea of joining this program.
By now it should be pretty clear to you that it’s very difficult to make money with MLMs. They ask a lot of you with upfront fees, seduce you with training and pep talks and reward your hard work with next to nothing.
