Modere MLM Review

Selling products in your spare time may seem like an easy way to make extra money.  You can work at your own pace and in your own time. But these opportunities are most often commission-based. It helps if you have a vested interest in the product. In this Modere MLM Review, we'll look at the offer and products to see if this is a decent earner for you. In this case, what you don't know can hurt you in the long run.

What is Modere MLM?

Originally, the company name was Neways and was founded in 1987 by Thomas and Leslie Mower. The company's products are made in the USA and its headquarters are in Utah. It offered beauty products and supplements that are sold in over 30 countries.

In 1993, the FDA recalled the Neways' Quickly weight-loss product because of the dangerous amount of a prescription drug. In 2003, they pleaded guilty to this violation and paid $1.75 million in fines.

This multi-level marketing company rebranded in 2015 as Modere and in 2020 they reported $368 million in revenue. In 2021, Forbes named it one of the top 10 Health and Beauty eCommerce brands and it's ranked the #1 Fastest-Growing Woman-led company. Looks like the rebranding worked.

Modere claims to have an A+ rating with BBB. When we checked, the rating is 2.68/5. Not great. But we'll talk more about that later. Let's take a look at the products.

Are Modere Products Worth Their Price?

Modere's health and wellness products include dietary supplements, personal care, weight loss, and household products. One of the products is the Modere Liquid Biocell Pure Natural Collagen. It is listed on the website for $69.99 for 15.2 ounces.

It has 0 calories, 0 carbs, and 0 sugar. It's supposed to help your joints by reducing discomfort, improving muscle tone, improving joint mobility and lubrication, improving skin hydration, reducing wrinkles, increasing skin's collagen content, and more.

Modere Product Reviews

The reviews for this particular product have been mixed. Some customers love the products and others complain that they felt no difference and it was a waste of money. Others said that it costs too much for the quantity given. Still, others said it made them sick.

These products are not FDA approved so customers should proceed with caution.

The Modere Opportunity

Modere products are mostly sold through social media. As a representative, your title is Social Marketer.

Once you pay the enrollment fee, you will get a personal web page on their website portal. You can use this page to connect with potential customers. There's no mention of training that I could find.

There are a number of starter kits to choose from in different categories depending on what you want to sell.

It is expected that you will sign up for the monthly recurring SmartShip program. You get a 5-15% discount on products. This discount also applies to customers.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Modere?

The enrollment fee is an annual $39.99. There are a number of different enrollment packs to choose from. The Basic Packs range from $159.99 to $199.99 and qualify for 250 points. The XM Launch Packs range from  $359.99 to $659.99 and qualify for 500-760 points. The Essentials Packs range from $59.99 to $99.99 and qualify for 125 points.

There are also hidden costs associated with selling products such as the cost of your Internet service, phone calls, gas, and maintenance on your vehicle. None of these costs are reimbursable.

Can You Make Money With Modere?

Modere claims that there are three key components to success. Acquire customers, become a team leader, and develop team leaders.

The commission structure is based on the difference between the wholesale price and retail price. This works out to between 10-20% depending on your total orders for the month.

Modere uses a point system for compensation. Each product has a point value. You also earn $50 each time you recruit someone to your team. When your team makes sales, you'll earn 5-10% commission from those sales. None of this matters if you don't have a team.

Income Disclosure

Below is an image that contains two images. On the left are the commission ranges for products sold, potential average monthly commissions, and the percentage of Social Marketers that earn that monthly average.

On the right, the image contains the title and the average, low, and high amount of compensation.

Modere doesn't guarantee any success you'll have making money selling these products.

According to the image above, 63.25% of Social Marketers made $54.34 per month and sold up to $200 worth of products. That works out to $652 per year. Not exactly life-changing.

Pros

SmartShip: Products are more affordable if customers sign up for the SmartShip program. They can save 5-15% on products as well as qualify for free delivery.

Return Policy: Modere has a 30-day, 100% full refund on all products, minus shipping costs.

Awards: The company has received a number of awards for its products.

Cons

No Training: There's no mention of training anywhere so you're probably on your own here.

Low Profits: Entry-level Social Marketers only earn the difference between wholesale and retail product prices.

BBB Complaints: According to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) there are many complaints from people who have had their credit cards charged for products they never purchased. In fact, these customers say they've never had any contact with this company.

Is Modere a Scam?

Modere is not a scam. It's yet another company that makes all its money through products sold by representatives. Even if the representatives don't sell any products to customers, the company has ensured its success by products bought by representatives. This way, there are always products being sold. It really doesn't matter who buys them.

Final Thoughts

All these MLMs show you the great rewards you can get if you move up the ranks. The high monetary rewards are very tempting. But that's usually not the reality.  The reality is that very few people make it up the ranks and earn decent money. A high percentage of people, in fact, make very little.

There's also no mention of training anywhere that I could find. That should be a given. How can you expect to sell products if you don't have the proper training? You don't know what you don't know.
